After only about nine months on the job, Timothy Wolfe has left  his position as general manager of the Antlers Hilton hotel in downtown Colorado Springs and taken a job managing the Westin hotel  in Beaver Creek,  outside the Town of Vail.

Wolfe said the opportunity be near Vail was too good to pass up.

“Yes. I barely got my feet wet there,” he said. “But there was a resort here in the mountains, and my son going to school in the area.”

Verena Salvtore, assistant to Pyramid’s regional for the Colorado area said the hotel has been interviewing replacement candidates and will likely announce a new general manager soon, though she could not offer a specific time frame.

“We’ve got some really strong candidates,” she said. “We’ll have someone in place soon.”

Wolfe has a 25-year hotel-management history and will begin serving as vice president of the governor-appointed Colorado Tourism Office board of directors this month.
