<h3>Wells Fargo top small biz lender in Colorado </h3>According to the latest Community Reinvestment Act data, Wells Fargo loaned more than $1.1 billion during 2007 to Colorado small business owners. It also loaned $66 million in Small Business Administration financing, making it the top SBA lender by dollar volume in the state for the federal fiscal year ending Sept. 30. In Colorado, Wells Fargo has more than 150 community banking stores, 28 Wells Fargo Home Mortgage locations and 22 Wells Fargo Financial stores.

<h3>Winter weather closes park reservoirs and lakes </h3>Sub-freezing temperatures and ice brought on by winter weather have closed lakes and reservoirs to boating at most Colorado State Parks. The gates to the boat ramps will be locked and no additional vessels will be able to enter the water. The closure will apply to all vessels, including trailered boats and hand-carried boat such as rafts, kayaks, canoes and other personal watercraft.
<h3>County seeking to fill vacancies on highway commission </h3>The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking volunteers to serve on the Highway Advisory Commission. One representative is needed from District 2 (the eastern portion of the county) and one from District 4 (the southern part of Colorado Springs, the Security-Widefield area, Fountain, Fort Carson and the area south to the county line). An at-large representative and two associate members also are needed.
<h3>Partnership for Child Development selects officers </h3> Community Partnership for Child Development/Head Start has elected board officers for 2008-09. Edna Daniels, a retired registered nurse, is chairwoman. The immediate past chairwoman is Beth Brooks, director of the office of the president at Colorado College.
