Applications are open for the Give! Campaign.
Through April 26, nonprofits can apply to participate in the Give! 2019 community-wide fundraising and awareness campaign. Any nonprofit that serves the Pikes Peak region is eligible to apply.
Nonprofits can learn more at one of three free information sessions. They will be held Thursday, April 4 and Thursday, April 18 from 3:30-5 p.m. at Stargazers Theatre and Events Center, and Tuesday, April 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Sand Creek Library.
Last year, Give! raised more than $1.7 million for 93 local causes.
Give! supports nonprofits working with everything from animal rescue to arts and culture, the great outdoors, health and human services, veterans, and more. New and innovative projects that need seed funding and capacity training are especially welcome to apply.
Nonprofits selected to participate receive valuable capacity-building training, access to matching grants and media exposure through more than a dozen radio, print and television partners. Participating organizations are featured online at IndyGive.com and in the printed Give! Guide, distributed to 140,000 readers of the Colorado Springs Independent, the Colorado Springs Business Journal and the Pikes Peak Bulletin in November and December.
Give! Executive Director Barb Van Hoy said the campaign inspires thousands of residents to learn about, donate to and get involved with the charities of their choice.
“The visibility and collaboration of being part of Give! are huge benefits,” said Kristy Milligan, chief executive officer of Westside CARES, which participates in Give! “We love the prestige of being selected and working with others doing great work.”
Angels of America’s Fallen, which honors fallen military members and first responders, and helps their children, was new to Give! last year.
“It was very impactful for us to make more connections and get more visibility within the community,” AOAF CEO Joe Lewis said.
Give! is a year-end philanthropic initiative created to encourage everyone in the Pikes Peak region to give back and get involved with local nonprofits. There’s a particular emphasis on catalyzing philanthropy from those aged 36 and younger.
Since 2009, Give! has enabled 200 local nonprofits to raise more than $11.4 million.
