The Colorado SBDC Cyber Security Summit for Small Business will be held Friday, Oct. 26, with a full day of workshops, two keynote speakers, access to free one-on-one cybersecurity consulting, and Cyber for Small Business exhibitors.

“We are really excited to host the inaugural Cyber Security Summit for Small Business for the Colorado SBDC network,” said Aikta Marcoulier, executive director of Pikes Peak SBDC. “This event had the best lineup of speakers, subject matter experts, and even games for our region’s small businesses to learn from.”

Marcoulier said attendees can join Basic, Advanced, Games and Workforce development tracks at the Summit, which starts with registration at 7:30 a.m. at The Pinery at the Hill, 775 W. Bijou St.

“Cyber is not scary, nor do you have to be an expert,” she said. “You just need to be aware of what you need to do as a small business owner to protect your data. Tools and guidance will be provided for all levels of understanding.”

Sessions include:
• Cyber Security for Small Business
• What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-EU), NIST 800-171 and Best Practices?
• Human Hacking: The Psychology Behind Cyber Security
• Colorado and National Breach Law

Federal Deputy Chief Information Officer of the United States Margaret Graves will speak at the “Cybersecurity Ecosystem in Colorado Springs” session at the start of the day.
