Colorado Springs maintenance crews will be repairing the bridge at Barnes Road and Sand Creek starting tomorrow, June 2.
Lanes will be closed in both directions, and crews will remove and replace asphalt, patch concrete and replace sidewalks. They’ll also install inlets on the east side of the bridge to improve drainage, according to reports from the city.
The work will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction, with closed lanes changing as the project moves forward. The work is expected to be finished in six weeks.
Drivers should expect some delays, city officials say, and should plan to use alternate routes.
The project is paid for with Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority funds.
