The Colorado Coalition for Social Impact will host its first town hall meeting from 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at the Citizens Service Center, Room 1017 at 1675 Garden of the Gods Road.
The creation of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center, the coalition includes individuals and organizations that want to promote the fourth sector of the economy, which uses capitalism to create value for communities by creating social impact. Businesses in the fourth sector of the economy combine a traditional for-profit business model with a mission typically found in the nonprofit sector.
The goal of CCSI is to provide leadership, mentoring and resources to social entrepreneurs, a growing sector of the Colorado economy.
“We are pleased to be able to partner with the Pikes Peak SBDC to create an alliance of business and community leaders interested in generating social impact and building awareness and education of this emerging sector,” said BBB CEO Jonathan Liebert. “The timing is right for our community to be fully engaged in promoting the fourth sector.”
“As we partner to establish the Colorado Coalition for Social Impact, we are on the leading edge of creating a better business environment while solving social issues,” said Aikta Marcoulier, executive director of the Pikes Peak SBDC. “The new generation of business is about helping others and giving back to the community.”
