Local nonprofit Peak Startup will be offering two new mentorships programs this month to help Colorado Springs entrepreneurs advance their careers, companies.
Beginning the week of May 22, free Open Office Hour and Lunch and Learn sessions will be open to the business community to learn from experienced industry professionals.
Open Office Hours will occur at Epicentral Coworking and give young professionals 20-30 minutes with entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants and marketing experts.
“After having many requests for more mentorship, we are adding Open Office Hours and Lunch and Learns,” Peak Startup Executive Director Royce Gomez announced in an email to the Business Journal. “There are currently ten professionals who will be volunteering their time every week to give entrepreneurs the advice and direction they need in various areas.”
Lunch and Learns will occur monthly at various locations. Attendees can bring a packed lunch and hear from a subject matter expert for 90 minutes.
“Colorado Springs is attracting more startups,” Gomez said. “And with the demand increasing, Peak Startup is rolling out relevant programs to provide more resources to help them achieve success. The support we have received from the professional community along the Front Range is exciting. I’ve had patent attorneys offer to come from Denver to share their expertise.”
Part of Peak Startup’s mission is to fuel the entrepreneurial spirit through networking, mentoring, and quality educational programs.
“One startup founder shared with me how valuable his two Peak Startup mentors have been for him,” Gomez said. “A year ago he didn’t even know what a startup was and today he operates a growing startup.”
