Rents across the state of Colorado are up 6.2 percent from last year — and rose an average of .5 percent from January to February of this year.
Those are the latest numbers from the Apartment List, an online company that provides rental listings and tracks rental trends across the nation.
The average rent across the state is $1,250 for an one-bedroom apartment and $1,490 for two-bedrooms.
While rents in Colorado Springs for a two-bedroom apartment average $1,050, the city’s rental rates are among the fastest-rising in the state. Colorado Springs had the fourth strongest year-to-year growth at 10.1 percent, according to the report. Month-over-month, Colorado Springs rents increased .8 percent from January to February.
Boulder is the most expensive place to live in the state, with average rents of $1,850 for a two-bedroom apartment. The city’s rents increased 3.3 percent in the last year.
Denver’s rents are up 4.8 percent, with two-bedroom apartments averaging $1,750 and Aurora’s rents are up 7.9 percent from last year. Apartments in Aurora average $1,390 for a two-bedroom.
