The state is seeking businesses interested in hiring interns in the state’s identified innovative industries, according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The internship program provides money to businesses who hire paid interns in eight industries: advanced manufacturing, aerospace, bioscience, construction, electronics, engineering, energy and natural resources and information technology,

The program was created in May 2015 and provides funding for 90 internships for five years. The money will distribute matching grants for $5,000 for each intern for on-the-job training at participating companies.

Businesses can be reimbursed for up to five interns per location. Internships require a minimum of 130 on-the-job training hours and must be completed in fewer than six months.
