I am pleased to announce Debbie Chandler has accepted the position of President and CEO for Colorado Health Medical Group.
Debbie will begin her position in February. She will work with the physicians, advanced practice providers and staff on enhancing access and expanding our medical group’s high-quality services to patients.
In her most recent role, Debbie was executive vice president and CEO of Colorado Springs Health Partners, the largest multi-specialty, physician-owned practice in Colorado. In this role, Debbie introduced automated and patient-centered workflows to advance patient care and productivity.
With more than 20 years of experience in multi-specialty group management and administration, Debbie brings a wealth of knowledge to CHMG. Debbie also has strong expertise in topics related to health care reform and innovative care transformation.
Debbie began her career as a certified nuclear medicine technologist. She is a certified medical practice executive with the Medical Group Management Association; she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida and her MBA from Rollins’ Crummer Graduate School of Business.
Thank you to everyone who has assisted with the search process, and I’d especially like to thank the CHMG board of directors for helping select Debbie for this role. Interim CEO Robin Levy will continue her current role until Debbie starts and will ensure a smooth transition.
I am thrilled that Debbie has accepted this position because I’m confident she will be a strong asset to UCHealth.

President and Chief Executive Officer
Chandler sent the following note to CSHP staff regarding her departure:
Dear CSHP Physicians, Teammates, Colleagues and Friends,
CSHP has seen much change and positive growth since I came to the group almost eight years ago. We have built an excellent leadership team and a stellar group of teammates who care for our patients with compassion and a commitment to excellence. I am very proud of all we have been able to accomplish and know that the tools and resources are in place for our group to continue its success well into the future. The partnership with DaVita HealthCare Partners has only served to reinforce our strong clinical and financial position; our position as a healthcare market leader.
It is with mixed emotion that I write this note to you today. I want to let you all know that I will be moving on from Colorado Springs Health Partners effective January 31, 2016 to accept a new position as President and CEO of the University of Colorado’s Colorado Health Medical Group (CHMG).
My new role will offer a progression in my career as a healthcare administrator and leader, as well as an inside view to the “other side” of the care delivery system. I anticipate many “aha” moments as I transition to the integrated hospital and academic based environment of UCH. I hope to make a difference for clinicians in a system where the group practice leader is on equal footing with the hospital system CEOs, this will be my mission.
Most important, I will carry with me all that I have learned from each of you, the knowledge I have gained will serve me well on this new journey. You have all changed my career and life for the better, thank you.
Leaving CSHP is one of the toughest decisions I have made in my career. I will dearly miss the strong and effective administrative team we have built, our dedicated and inspiring physicians, and the interactions and relationships I have shared with all of our teammates.
As we close out 2015, I wish you all a wonderful, prosperous and healthy New Year. Happy Holidays and I look forward to many more years of your friendship and collegiality.
Additionally, CSHP’s executive team issued the following correspondence:
This opportunity for Debbie to advance her career and take on new challenges is exciting and we wish her good luck and success. Under her dynamic leadership we have achieved much, including our successful transition to DaVita HealthCare Partners. The foundation Debbie leaves behind is solid and will allow us to continue to grow as the leader in high quality, patient centered care in the Pikes Peak region.
During this transition time, Mark Price, HealthCare Partners Colorado Market President, will serve as the interim CEO and our executive team will continue to run the day to day operations for CSHP. With the help of DaVita HealthCare Partners, we will immediately begin searching for a replacement CEO for CSHP. The executive team and many of you will be involved in the interview and selection process to ensure we find the right person to lead CSHP into the future.
Change always brings many questions and opportunities. Change brought Debbie to us 8 years ago and under her leadership we have become a strong force in the community. The executive team stands ready to build on our successes and is committed to continuing on this path under new leadership. Together with your support, we will make this happen.
Take time to enjoy your families during this holiday season and we wish you a happy and healthy new year.
Your Executive Team
