Poor Richard’s will celebrate its 40th anniversary in business Saturday with festivities all day involving free breakfast, free pizza, free ice cream and more.
The fun starts at 10 a.m. at Poor Richard’s, which occupies 320-324 ½ N. Tejon St. The business is really three: Poor Richard’s Books & Gifts, Rico’s Café and Wine Bar and Little Richard’s Toy Store.
Saturday celebrates 40 years of successful business in downtown Colorado Springs as well as the final reveal of a six-monthy construction project of the business’ façade.
From 10-11 a.m., there will be a free tapas breakfast, followed by the ribbon cutting of the renovation project. From the ribbon cutting until noon, Disney’s “Frozen” characters Elsa and Anna will be in costume and there will be live music and free pizza.
Between 2-4 p.m., kids can take advantage of free ice cream and cake while they enjoy Cinderella in costume. There will also be free pizza and toys during the afternoon.
Between 5-7 p.m., Poor Richard’s will toast with 3-ounce pours of wine or beer, and from 7-9:30 p.m., live music will play.
