Soccer players and fans will soon have a $3.6 million, 48,000-square-foot indoor soccer facility, which is expected to open in December.
Soccer Haus will be located on 2.6 acres at 4845 List Dr., on the city’s Westside. On two indoor fields, the facility will house soccer and flag football leagues and operate a restaurant called the Upper 90 Tavern. The tavern will serve food from a variety of countries, as well as beer and wine, according to Soccer Haus CEO John Riding.
Riding said the region only has one indoor facility and, with a population of more than 600,000, a second facility is sorely needed.
“There are six or seven facilities in Denver,” Riding said. “We have such demand here that [the existing facility] has games at midnight.”
Riding said, having spent time in Europe in the military, he’d like to bring the feel of similar European sports complexes to this endeavor.
In addition to recreational leagues, the Soccer Haus will also be home to the Colorado Blizzard, which plays in the Premier Arena Soccer League, the nation’s largest amateur arena soccer league. The PASL currently has 46 teams in six divisions across the country. The PASL is the official developmental league of the Major Arena Soccer League.
