Mary Fagnant will take over as CEO of Qualtek Manufacturing starting Nov. 1, according to a press release from the company.

A majority shareholder of the privately held metal manufacturer, she served as its president for the past 15 years. The current CEO, Tony Fagnant,  will remain involved with the company’s business development and will devote more time to the company’s Q-munity investment in social and community enterprises like Blue Star Recyclers, a 501(c)3 sustainable enterprise.

“The CEO role will allow me to continue developing our company culture devoted to manufacturing excellence that values employee’s growth,” Mary Fagnant said in a statement. “I also hope to serve as a model of leadership success for other women in manufacturing and encourage more women to enter the field.”

Qualtek manufactures specialty metal parts by providing metal stamping, heat-treating, finishing and wire EDM services in  Colorado Springs. The company was recently named one of the state’s “Companies to Watch,” an award sponsored by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the Edward Lowe Foundation.
