In retail settings, nothing’s more important than drawing in the customer with inviting displays and lighting. Here, Business Journal reporter and photographer Cameron Moix highlights some examples of local businesses — Terra Verde, Platte Floral, Anna’s Apothecary, the Leechpit and Mountain Mama — that use imagination and creativity to catch the customer’s attention and keep it. Those new to the retail industry don’t have to go it alone. The Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center is hosting a lighting workshop Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 9-11 a.m. at its location in the El Paso County Service Center on Garden of the Gods Road. Participants will learn more about lighting and lighting technology from a national expert.
