BlackBearColorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a reward for information regarding a black bear poached in southwest Colorado Springs, according to a news release sent by the state agency.

The approximately 400-pound male black bear was poached late July 9 or in the early morning hours of July 10 in the Cheyenne Mountain Estates neighborhood in southwest Colorado Springs.

An individual who provides information that leads to the conviction of a poacher may receive a reward of up to $500.

“Poaching is a serious crime and takes away wildlife opportunities from responsible hunters and the citizens of the state of Colorado,” according to the release.
