Bike to Work day Wednesday June 24 2015

The 22nd annual Mountain Metro Rides Bike to Work Day has been scheduled for 6:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24.

Registration is open and available online. The first 1,000 “participants will receive a commemorative pin that entitles them to discounts and deals around town,” according to a news release by Mountain Metropolitan Transit, which organizes the event.

Several area businesses participate in the event. Participants who receive the “commemorative pin” will have access to:

  • 2South Wine Bar – 50 percent off bottles of wine PLUS buy one get one free small plates. Offer good Wednesday only;
  • Bristol Brewing Company – One free beer. Offer good Wednesday only;
  • McCabe’s Tavern – 10 percent off, plus free New Belgium swag. Offer for 10 percent off good year-round if you ride your bike;
  • Odyssey Gastropub – 50 percent off beer and regular happy hour specials all day June 24 and regular happy hour specials any time of day through June 30;
  • Poor Richard’s/Rico’s – 50 percent off one cup/glass of coffee, tea, beer or wine. Discount cards will be available at breakfast locations and are redeemable anytime;
  • Springs Orleans – 50 percent off Fat Tire and 30 percent off all other alcohol. Offer good on Wednesday only; and
  • Whole Foods Market on Academy – free peanut or almond butter packet, an energy bar and a banana. Offer good through June 30.
