SBDC provides advice, resources during Small Business Week


Resources and advice for small businesses are the focus of the Small Business Development Center’s annual Small Business Week, slated for June 8-12.

The events kick off Monday night, with a seminar about local government services, while Tuesday’s event  covers advice about marketing on a small budget. Wednesday’s meeting covers state and federal resources. Thursday evening’s event features advice for veterans and military members seeking to create their own small businesses. All the meetings are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Go to the Colorado Springs SBDC site for more information and to register.

The weeklong event culminates at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Berger Hall at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a luncheon to honor small business successes and their advocates. Gerry O’Brion, a nationally recognized marketing and branding expert, will discuss how to achieve big marketing results on a small budget. With experience used to create billion-dollar brands,  O’Brion will discuss growth strategies for small businesses, generating ideas to ignite company growth.
