veteransRocky Mountain PBS invites the public to honor the service men and women in their lives by attending a screening of “The Homefront.”

A documentary, “The Homefront” creates a series of intimate portraits of military members by following families through the difficulties of deployment, the joys of homecoming and the challenges of reintegrating as a family after many months apart.

Colorado has more than 50,000 active military personnel and 413,000 veterans. Rocky Mountain PBS has partnered with local organizations to launch the Veteran & Service Initiative to raise awareness around stories of service in Colorado and beyond.

In the coming months, Rocky Mountain PBS will host screenings, air special programming, showcase stories and collect testimonials from community members to honor loved ones in the armed forces.

“The Homefront” will be shown Thursday, May 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Pikes Peak Community College, and will be followed by a discussion with expert panelists. To learn more about “The Homefront” and Rocky Mountain PBS’ Veteran & Service Initiative, and to RSVP for the screening, please visit rmpbs.org/veterans.
