The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will host Blue Star Recyclers’ electronics recycling drive on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The recycling event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the zoo, according to a news release.
“The public is welcome to drop off just about anything that plugs in,” the release said, with an exception for refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioning units. “Many recyclables will be taken free of charge. More complicated and toxic products like televisions, computer monitors, printers and florescent light bulbs will be accepted for a small fee.”
All fees and donations are tax deductible, according to the release. Fees include:
$1 per inch for televisions (measured diagonally);
$5 for hard drive destruction;
$5 for printers, copiers, fax machines and small appliances;
free for computer towers and laptops;
free for cell phones;
free for batteries; and
free for christmas lights.
