Jeanne Salcetti’s goal is to help those around her find the success she has found in her own life.
“My ultimate goal is to participate in a nonprofit organization for young women to encourage them to pursue and achieve their life goals in a satisfying career like I have been so fortunate to do,” she said.
Salcetti has practiced her periodontal craft in Colorado Springs for more than 20 years.
She started as a dental hygienist on the east coast, having graduated with a bachelor degree from the University of Maryland in 1980 and joined the faculty there for six years. While on staff, she received her master’s in adult and continuing education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1986 and went on to pursue her D.D.S., graduating again from Maryland University in 1991.
After that, she left for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she worked a three-year periodontics residency and received yet another master’s degree.
In 1995, Salcetti moved to Colorado Springs to start Salcetti & Associates and became board-certified with The American Board of Periodontology in 2000. She was president of the Colorado Dental Association in 2007-08 and was the organization’s first woman president. She was also appointed by former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter to serve as a representative to the Collaborative Scopes of Care Advisory Committee in 2008. She has been appointed to the American Academy of Periodontology to represent them to the American Dental Political Action Committee Board and chairs the oversight committee in Continuing Education with the AAP.
Now, as she is recognized as one of 2014’s Women of Influence, Salcetti said she is honored to have earned the distinction and that she looks forward to serving the community, both through her practice and through the various nonprofits with which she is involved.

When she isn’t working in her official capacity, Salcetti enjoys skiing, running and spending quality time with her two children, both of whom are in college. But she works early and often, according to her colleagues.
“Every year, Jeanne engages herself and her company employees in many community nonprofit events and fundraising,” said Kent Wilson, executive coach and group chair for Vistage International.
Salcetti said her personal mission statement is this: “To use my mind, body and spirit to enhance and continually elevate my skills and talents to be a passionate educator, healer, nurturer and change agent.”
