In a release, airport officials said the benefit was offered “to show appreciation to our community for continued patronage. COS plans to bring further offers and promotions throughout the holiday season.”
In a separate announcement, the airport said it has achieved official registration as an Aviation Development Zone from the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade. This state program is complimentary to the Commercial Aeronautical Zone programs recently approved by Colorado Springs and El Paso County. In addition to the commercial zone’s local sales and use tax abatement and rebate, the state zone provides a state income tax credit of $1,200 per new employee of eligible aviation businesses at the airport.
