The event, dubbed “State of the Cities: A Regional Approach,” will include a panel discussion in which the mayors of five nearby cities will discuss topics related to military, marijuana, taxes, natural disaster, business development and how they can work more efficiently with one another.
“I think this is going to be really good lunch and that it will be a really important step in working together to strengthen the Pikes Peak region,” said Jenifer Furda, Business Journal associate publisher and event organizer.
The panelists include:
- Manitou Springs Mayor Marc Snyder
- Green Mountain Falls Mayor Lorrie Worthey
- Monument Mayor Rafael Dominguez
- Palmer Lake Mayor Nikki McDonald
- Fountain Mayor Gabriel Ortega
Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach was invited to join the panel but is unable to attend due to a prior engagement. Woodland Park Mayor David Turley will not be in attendance.
The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 24 at the Hotel Elegante (2886 S. Circle Drive). Registration costs $25 and includes lunch.
The event’s key sponsors are Colorado Springs-based Platinum Relations and Ent Federal Credit Union.
