Peoples Bank will provide “shutdown loan relief” for government employees who have been furloughed during the recent federal government shutdown.

“As a family owned community bank, we want to make sure our Customers who have been negatively impacted by the government shutdown are treated with understanding and respect,” said Peoples President and CEO Brendan Zahl in a news release on Thursday. “We hope our shutdown loan relief program helps ease the strain and provides some positive news for these Customers.”

Locally the bank has three branches in Colorado Springs, including North Academy Boulevard, Tejon Street, and Struthers Road in Gleneagle. In the region, Peoples has another three branches: Woodmoor Drive in Monument, Mesa Ridge Parkway in Fountain and Scott Avenue in Woodland Park.
