Jennifer Malenky has joined CASA of the Pikes Peak Region as director of resource development. She has experience in the nonprofit development field that spans more than 13 years. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Colorado Planned Giving Round Table.


Rick Eddy was named manager of accounting at Ent Federal Credit Union. Eddy has a master’s degree in accounting and finance from Regis University and is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor.


Ent announced the promotion of Shirley DuVal to mortgage loan officer. DuVal will serve the mortgage loan needs of Ent’s members located in El Paso and Teller counties. She brings five years of financial services experience to her new role. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and is currently in the master’s of business administration program at Colorado Technical University.

The board of directors of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors elected Linda Leitz, certified financial planner, as national chairwoman for the 2013-14 board term. Leitz is the founder and co-owner of the Fee-Only financial planning firm It’s Not Just Money Inc. in Colorado Springs.


Jen Furda, associate publisher of the Colorado Springs Business Journal, and Don Johnson have been elected to the 2014 Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Board. The board is responsible for ensuring that the legacy of the Western heritage is maintained through outstanding western events such as the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, the Rodeo Parade, Blue Jeans & Brass, and Cowgirls and Cocktails. Such events allow the rodeo to fulfill its sole mission of supporting local military charities.

Mark Perrault, a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual – Colorado Springs, has been appointed a field director in the Colorado Springs area. Perrault received a bachelor of science degree in operations management from the University of Colorado in 2005. He also received a MBA in 2009 from Gonzaga University.


Kaiser Permanente Colorado, the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, has named Holly Kortum, Pharm.D., executive director for the health plan’s southern Colorado service area. Kortum holds a doctorate in pharmacy and a master’s degree in health administration, both from the University of Colorado.


Cindy Ballard has joined the Hotel Eleganté Conference and Event Center as the social catering sales manager. Ballard came to Colorado in 1989 and was the assistant director and booking manager for the Pikes Peak Center. Ballard has a bachelor’s degree from Brown University Theatre Arts in Providence, R.I.


Brian Hinson joined the team at the Hotel Eleganté Conference and Event Center responsible for the front desk and housekeeping operations staff. He was a former special education teacher and aide in Odessa, Texas.


Ed Okvath is the new general manager of the Hotel Elegante Conference and Event Center. He has been in Colorado Springs since 1978, growing up with an Army officer father with travels throughout Japan and Germany, until his father’s retirement at Fort Carson. Okvath attended UCCS.


Lydia Montgomery joined the Hotel Eleganté Conference and Event Center team as group sales manager with markets in the government, military and education.
