Remodelers, landscapers, painters and other contractors will display their goods during the annual Housing and Building Association’s Home & Garden Show this weekend.

hbaHBA director of member services Shirley Rouse said attendance at the expo, which runs Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, is usually about 6,000.

“And they’re usually actively looking to do something,” Rouse said. “Our vendors get so many leads out of this event.”

Shows like this one give consumers a chance to meet with vendors who can work on their projects, talk with them and get an idea of how they might proceed.

“There are a lot of companies here who don’t get a lot of traffic into their showrooms,” Rouse said. “There are even some smaller businesses, like Shelf Genie, that don’t have storefronts and depend on shows like this to get in front of thousands of people.”

“With the market coming back, there are a lot of people who have been sitting on projects for a while and now they’re coming out to meet vendors and they’re really looking to take action,” Rouse said.
