A shadowy hacker group in the Middle East is wreaking havoc on U.S. banking sites, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The group calls itself Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, and has caused denial-of-service for customers of Wells Fargo, U.S. Bancorp and Bank of America.

So far, no personal data has been compromised, the banks say.  But cyber experts say the sophistication of the attacks highlight the danger financial institutions face from outside cyber attacks.
