Teresa Hansen, who has more than 18 years of printing and paper related experience, joined the Paper Hive. As the new customer service representative, Hansen’s responsibilities include delivering products, warehouse duties and providing answers about any paper needs.

Dr. April Van Valin has joined Bear Creek Veterinary Care on the west side of Colorado Springs. Van Valin grew up in Colorado Springs. She has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Colorado State University and master’s in business administration from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. As a general practitioner, Dr. Van Valin provides primary care for pets of all ages and her special interests include internal medicine, with an emphasis on endocrinology and feline medicine, as well as dentistry and cardiology. Preventive care is also one of her areas of particular focus.

Angela Kangiser has been promoted to partner at Access/Information, Inc. Kangiser joined the firm in March and is the former owner of Online Business Research in Colorado Springs. She specializes in providing competitive intelligence, business and market research to companies across the country. She speaks on business and competitive intelligence research and writes articles for ONLINE, Searcher and other industry publications. Kangiser is an active member of the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals organization.

Scott Pann, senior vice president and wealth advisor with The Pann/DeYoung Wealth Management Group at UBS Financial Services in Colorado Springs, recently earned the Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM designation. The CPWA designation is the only advanced designation designed for financial advisors and consultants who work with high-net-worth clients on the life cycle of wealth. Pann has worked in the financial services industry since 1986 and at UBS since 2009. He provides holistic wealth management for his clients and specializes in the accumulation, preservation, utilization and succession of wealth among business owners, c-level executives, medical professions and select families.

Accounting firm BKD has promoted Jodie Cates to director and Anthony Giordano to senior vice president. Cates serves clients in the governmental industry. She has more than 19 years of governmental accounting and auditing experience. Her background in auditing includes experience with school districts, utilities, various state agencies, cities and counties and tax-exempt organizations.

Giordano has more than 25 years of experience providing investment banking and financial advisory services. He is responsible for managing corporate finance engagements, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, strategic options analysis and business consulting.
