The UCCS Small Business Development Center has hired Aikta Marcoulier as its new director.

Marcoulier, who starts the job today, was most recently director of partnership marketing for the Professional Bull Riders, where she worked for eight years.

The SBDC director’s job has been vacant since Marcella Hurley left the position in June after spending about six months on the job.

Prior to working for the Professional Bull Riders, Marcoulier worked in Colorado Springs with the Colorado Springs Native American Sports Council, a community-based organization of the United States Olympic Committee, where she received the experience in acquiring grants and local support to meet broader goals of the organization.

The Small Business Development Center of Colorado Springs is a nonprofit organization that provides fee counseling and education to small- and medium-sized businesses in El Paso and Teller counties.
