Community Recycling Event

El Paso County, Blue Star Recyclers and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs are hosting a community recycling day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UCCS parking lot No. 12, on N. Nevada Avenue, across from the University Village Shopping Center. Cost is $5 per passenger vehicle. Items that can be recycled are electronics, latex paint, mattresses, tires, household recyclables, fluorescent light bulbs and batteries.

Small Business Outreach

The Pikes Peak Small Business Partnership, the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC and 15 federal agencies host the 2012 Small Business Outreach event, “Gateway to Federal Contracting” from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Antlers Hilton, 4 S. Cascade Ave. The event will provide government contracting training to small businesses. Participants include Air Force Small Business Office, Bureau of Land Management and Defense Contract Audit Agency. Cost is $175 per person.
