John Edmundson, who operates seven Popeyes restaurants in Colorado Springs, was recognized by parent company Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at an international conference in New Orleans earlier this month.

Edmundson, who opened his first Popeyes franchise in 1991, received the company’s Build Distinctive Brand Award. He was recognized for being a franchise operator who actively builds his brand within his community.

The award comes on the heels of being recognized for having the best fried chicken in the city by the Colorado Springs Gazette in its Best of the Springs competition.
