Small business owners could win big if they break out the video camera and turn it on themselves.

Two national organizations, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Neustar, the  are sponsoring video contsts.

SBA contest

The Small Business Administration, in celebration of Small Business Week 2012, is encouraging Colorado small businesses to send in videos that tell the story of how they’ve been helped by SBA — through counseling, SBA-guaranteed loans, SBA contracting programs, or SBA disaster assistance.

The contest is meant to highlight SBA programs and the impact that small businesses have on their communities.

Business owners ought to get their director and acting hats on and show off their digs. The videos should be original, two minutes or less, and should share their story.

The winning videos will be show at SBA’s National Small Business Week conference, which attracts hundreds of small business owners from across the country.

Three winning videos will also be shown during a Google+ Hangout, hosted by SBA and the White House May 24. And, qualifying videos will be featured on SBA’s YouTube page.

Neustar contest

Neustar is promoting the new .US domain name with its “Dream Big” contest for small business owners.

Business owners can submit a video explaining who they are and where they want to take their business and how they are using their new .US website to accomplish those goals.

Winners get an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC May 20 to 24 for the National Small Business Conference. They will also receive professional consulting from an industry experts
