Jeremy Davis has been promoted to business banker at Ent Federal Credit Union. Davis has been with Ent for more than four years and previously served as a business consultant at its Jackson Creek service center. Davis will serve the business banking needs of the credit union’s southern cluster, which includes Ent’s South, Galley, Westside, Jetwing, Peterson and Schriever Air Force Base service centers.

Merrick & Company was presented with Pike’s Peak Post 2011 Seymour S. Greenfield Sustaining Member Medium Company by the Pikes Peak Post of the Society of American Military Engineers. The award was given for Merrick’s local contributions, leadership, community activities, planning and support to SAME. Merrick’s Ruben Cruz, Ph.D., PE, project manager, was awarded the SAME Rocky Mountain Region Vice President’s Medal for his continued commitment to the post.

Maxx HD Sunglasses congratulated staff member David Rhoads, the most recent employee to reach the $1 million sales mark. Rhoads started in the new sales division with MAXX in 2010. He was promoted to reorders two months later. Maxx promoted Allison Walters to coordinator pro sports collections. She will work directly with all 30 Major League Baseball clubs. Heather Valdez-Conover joined Maxx as a graphic artist. Prior to joining the Maxx she was graphic artist for Modular Mining Systems.

Brian Beiser, supervisor at BKD, LLP’s Colorado office, has been authorized by the Institute of Construction Industry Financial Professionals to use the CCIFP certification marks. Besides a formal education, professional and work experience requirements, CCIFP professionals must pass the Certification Examination and adhere to ICCIFP’s Code of Ethics. The CCIFP designation recognizes those demonstrating skill and proficiency in their field, verified through advanced education, professional experience and rigorous examination. Fewer than 800 people nationally have this designation.

The Aspen Institute announced that Reggie Bicha, executive director of the Colorado Department of Human Services, will be in the inaugural class of its Ascend Fellowship program, one of a select group of 20 leaders from across the country who are pioneering two-generation approaches to move families beyond poverty.

Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado, Inc.’s named its newest board member, Gitty Betts, Wells Fargo Bank, Southern Colorado Community Banking vice president, district manager. Betts has been involved in the Colorado Springs community in multiple ways; she has served on the United Way Fund Allocation Committee for three years. She has previously taught Junior Achievement classes at various schools in the Pikes Peak region. She also has volunteered with the Traumatic Brain Injury Association supporting the Peak Challenge for five years and most recently was a station lead during the Challenge.

OpTech, a Troy, Michigan-based information technology and engineering staffing and solutions provider, announced that it has promoted Lisa Anderson to vice president of sales. She resides in Littleton, Colorado, where she works in OpTech’s Colorado office. As vice president of sales, Anderson will manage some of OpTech’s largest accounts. Anderson joined OpTech in 2004 and advanced through multiple recruiting and account management positions within the firm, most recently serving as business unit director. With more than 10 years in the professional services industry, she has supported customers in the financial, healthcare, insurance, energy, defense and government sectors.

El Paso County Commissioner and board vice chair Sallie Clark has been appointed to the Veterans and Military Task Force under the administration of the National Association of Counties, headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Veterans and Military Task Force helps guide NACo members to ensure best practices and policies and promotes innovative programs, services and benefits for the nation’s military, veterans and families.
