The City of Colorado Springs has published the 2009 Budget-in-Brief booklet on its Web site.
The booklet is intended to be an easy-to-read guide that features facts, figures and graphs that summarize the budget and its revenue sources and expenditures.
The online booklet can be accesed by clicking here or by visiting springsgov.com and entering “2009 Budget in Brief” in the search field.
“The entire City budget is always available for review, but most people seem to appreciate this abbreviated document,” said Terri Velasquez, the City’s chief financial officer. “It provides a great deal of important information in an easy-to-digest format we hope citizens will appreciate.”
Among the contents of the 2009 Budget in Brief are:
- Descriptive data about the city
- Sources of city revenue
- How money is spent
- Comparisons to other cities
- The city’s Strategic Plan
- How residents can get involved
