Once a month, the city’s “green team” hosts a brown bag lunch session to offer advice, tips and information about how businesses and individuals can go green and save money.

In the second of the series, the team has invited guest speakers from Colorado Springs Utilities to offer ideas about how to save money through rebates and energy and water conservation.

This month’s meeting is scheduled from 12:11 to 12:49 p.m. March 11 at the city administration building, 30 S. Nevada Ave., suite 102. Bring a lunch and learn how to save money on those utility costs.

The city will also sponsor a drawing for a tote bag, made from downtown recycled banners, at the meeting.

Upcoming “green” bag lunch-n-learns later in the year include:

Thursday, April 8, 2009 – What you need to know at home and work about recycling, City Hall, 107 N. Nevada, Academy Room
Thursday, May 14, 2009 – Alternative commuting for dummies, City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada, Suite 102
Thursday, June 11, 2009 – Composting 101: a panel discussion, City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada, Suite 102
