First-day enrollment at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs brought the largest and best-qualified freshman class in the universitys history. There were 751 freshmen on campus after the first day of classes, a 1.3 percent or nine student increase from last year.
In addition to a large number of freshmen, this years class will likely be the best-qualified group of students in the universitys history. High school grade-point average, class rank and entrance exam scores are used to measure student qualifications. Enrollment will continue until Sept. 7.
