Care and Share CEO steps down

Nicholas Saccaro, president and CEO of Care and Share since July 2006, is leaving his position at the food bank on May 13 to become the vice president/general manager of Revolution Foods’ new branch in the Denver metro area.

Alex Edwards, current chief operating officer of Care and Share, will serve as the interim president and CEO while the board of directors conducts a nationwide search for a new CEO.

Under Saccaro’s leadership Care and Share saw the construction of two new distribution facilities, tripled it delivery fleet and grew food distribution 90 percent.

Care and Share Food Bank is the largest non-profit hunger relief agency in southern Colorado. Acting as a distribution hub, Care and Share works with a network of more than 400 non-profit partners to reach 95,000 people across 31 counties in southern Colorado. Last year, the food bank distributed more than 11.3 million pounds of food and grocery items.
