The Colorado Springs City Council will consider a zone change and development plan this week for a 52-unit Westside townhome development.
Uintah Bluffs LLC is requesting approval to build the townhomes on 12.9 acres northeast of Manitou Boulevard and west of Monument Street, bordered by Mesa Road and Dale Street.
The project started in 2006, but was delayed because of the economy and because of access issues, said City Planner Mike Schultz.
While there could be direct access to the developable property from Dale and Mesa, there are major grading issues there that would make access at those points difficult.
The property owner has received approval from the city to put a road through some adjacent open space.
That road raises issues, however, for neighbors who say they will have roads on three sides of their properties.
